Alonzo "Buddy" Baber, 97, husband of Mary, passed away Friday, June 22nd at his home in Pensacola,Florida. Mr. Baber was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Bill and Cora Wise Baber, he was a retired employee of CSX, and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Pensacola. He was a Untied States Naval Veteran, serving aboard the USS North Carolina, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his sister Beaulah Baber, his brother L.J. Baber, and his sister Eva Lou Dawes. Survivors other than his wife Mary include his son Danny; his brother Bill; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at the Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals, with Mark McClaine officiating. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call after 6:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
