Alverta Hymer Brinegar, 103, widow of Willie Howard Brinegar, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Irvine Health and Rehab center. Mrs. Brinegar was a native of Estill, a daughter of the late Sam and Bitha Murphy Hymer. Mrs. Brinegar was a retired cook. Mrs. Brinegar was preceded in death by a son Carlos Ray Brinegar. Survivors include her children William Edward (Chris) Brinegar, Kenneth Franklin (Betty) Brinegar, Ruby (Leon) Roberts, and Pauline (James) Bingham; her grandchildren Michael Brinegar, James Ray Brinegar, Christian Brinegar, Dwayne (Donna) Bingham, Robbie (Shaye) Roberts, James (Timiri) Bingham Jr., William Edward (Chris) Brinegar Jr. , Debra Raye (Roger) Kissick, Sherie Ann Lolos, and Ken (Amber) Brinegar; her great grandchildren Justin Bingham, James Bingham, Ratasha Puckett, Rachel Roberts, Dawson Bingham, Tia Brandenburg, Cody Marshall, Kasie Isaacs, Tanya Brinegar, and Jaimie (Steve) Bazar; nine great-great grandchildren also survive. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in the Brinegar Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 12:00 pm until service time Sunday. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Bingham, James Bingham Jr., Ken Brinegar Jr., Christian Brinegar, Robbie Roberts, and Sherie Lolos. Honorary pallbearers include James Bingham Sr., and Leon Roberts.
