Barbara Alice Dixon Bell, 81, passed away Sunday, July 28th at the Marcum-Wallace Hospital. Mrs. Bell was born August 16th 1931 in Lexington, a daughter of the late George Steven and Bertha Florence Baker Dixon. Mrs. Bell was a retired employee of Carhart, where she performed many administrative tasks throughout the years. She attended Friendship Baptist Church, was an avid reader, a devoted sister & aunt. She enjoyed cooking and studying history. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by four sisters Inez Dixon Durbin, Lucille Arthur, George Ann McGee, and Janice DeSantis. Mrs. Bell is survived by her nieces and nephews Wallace, William Ray, Jeffery Dixon, and Mark Thomas Arthur; Lou Catherine McKinney, Tim McGee, John David DeSantis, Paul Christopher DeSantis, and Steven Durbin; her special caregivers Marie Dixon, DeVonda Hardy, Ruth Hardy Mansfield and Sheila Hardy. Services will be held Wednesday, July 31st, 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Rogers, and Bro. Adrian McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Texola Cemetery at Pryse.
