Barbara N Welch, age 88, passed away on November 19, 2020 at Madison Health. Born in Estill County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Wilgus and Addie Newton and a member of Station Camp Christian Church where she also was the pianist. Barbara owned and operated Bobs supermarket for 44 years, she was also a member of the four seasons Garden club and a member of Estill Co Homemakers. She loved her community she developed the Monarchbutterfly way station in Estill County. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert M Welch. She is survived by her son Robert M Welch Jr., one daughter Susan Tipton, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services officiated by Bro. Scott Beauchamp will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Lewis-Abner in Irvine. Visitation begins at 12:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery with Oliver Welch, Jeff Renner, David Newton, Anthony Newton, Seth Newton and Jonathan Newton serving as active pallbearers.
