Bobbie Jean Childress Estes, age 92, of Beattyville, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her home.
Bobbie was born on August 24, 1930, in Letcher County Kentucky, to the late Charles Frank and Lavados Pauline Davis Childress Richie. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Miss Estes was also preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Estes Sr., two brothers, Charles and Billy Childress, two sisters, Helen Caserta and Bette Higgs, along with her daughter in law, Rhonda J. Issac Estes a great great granddaughter, Serenity Anne McKinney and her stepfather, Arthur Richie.
Survivors include, her children, Lavados Pauline Estes, Randy Estes, O.C. Estes and wife Sheila, Brenda Gayle Ballback, and Harlan Estes Jr., and one sister, Joyce Crank and husband Curt. 10 Grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends to miss her and mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Estes will be conducted on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Reverend William Owens will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Horn Cemetery in Old Landing, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Randy Estes, O.C. Estes, Bobby Estes, Bryan Estes, Seth Horn, Michael Harlan Estes, Jesse Lutes, and Christian Abney.
