Charles Babb, 82, husband of Viola Jenkins Babb, of Reges Road, Irvine, passed away September 4th at the Compassionate Care Center after a long illness. He was born November 22nd, 1929 in Hamilton Ohio, the son of the late Bennie and Bertha Lovin Babb. He was retired from Southeast Coal Company, a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and the O.D. Henderson Masonic Lodge. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by three sons, Ricky, Mike, and Greg Babb; three sisters Suzie Dozier, Ima Jean Babb and Viola Babb; a grand daughter Danisha Kay Horn. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Viola Jenkins Babb; one daughter Carol (Williard) Horn; two brothers Beverly (Joyce) Babb, and Arnold (Juanita) Babb, both of Ohio; three grandchildren Melissa, Rodney, and Stanley (Sara); Three great-grandchildren Susan, Lydia and Brenton, several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 PM, Lewis Funeral Home, with Bro. Wayne Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Military Rites. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services.
