Obituary

Daniel K. Arvin, age 68, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at his home in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1957, in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Raleigh Arvin and Louise Arvin.

Daniel had a lifelong love for racing. He was one of Dale Earnhardt's biggest fans and especially enjoyed dirt-track racing. Whether watching a race or spending time with those who shared his passion, racing brought Daniel great happiness. He dearly loved his family, his racing family, his work family, and above all, the community he proudly called home.

Daniel devoted many years of his life to serving and protecting the people of Estill County. He served as a deputy under Sheriff Glendle Flynn and later served as a constable for four years.

His commitment to his community extended even further through his many years of service with both the Irvine and Estill County Fire Departments. Whether he was wearing a badge or answering the call to fight a fire, Daniel was always willing to step forward and help someone in need. Proudly known as Unit #205, his dedication to public service and his love for his community will long be remembered

In addition to his father, Raleigh Arvin, Daniel was preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Anne-Marie Rogers Arvin.

Daniel is survived by three daughters, Lore-Louise (Paul) Bailey of Irvine, Kentucky, Frannie Graham (Shane) of Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, and Danielle Kay Arvin of Houstonville, Kentucky; his granddaughters, Kayelyn Cox (Aubrey Hedges) of Daytona, Florida, and Kylynn Cox of Irvine, Kentucky; his grandsons, Raleigh Cutwright III of Chicago, Illinois, and Kyler Cox of Irvine, Kentucky; and three great-grandchildren, Bayleigh Smith of Houstonville, Danny Cutwright of magnolia Kentucky and Oakley Smith of Houstonville, Kentucky.

He is also survived by five brothers, Dean (Alice Faye) Arvin, Roger Dale (Ida) Arvin, Dwight (Sandy) Arvin, and Michael Arvin, all of Estill County, Kentucky, and David (Vickie) Arvin of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two sisters, Alma Louise (Danny) Kidd of Irvine, Kentucky, and Lucy Arvin of Oklahoma; and one special sister, Rosa Jones of Lexington, Kentucky.

Daniel also leaves behind his special buddy, Reid, his beloved dog, although Daniel was always quick to tell everyone that Reid was really the boss.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Daniel's bluegrass care navigators team, as well as his niece, Tammy Ellis, and Alexis Ellis, for the loving and compassionate care they provided. In honor of Daniel's love for racing, the family asks anyone who has a racing shirt to please wear it to the service. They know Daniel would have loved seeing everyone come together in racing colors to celebrate his life
