Danny Ray Angel, age 63, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home in Estill County, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, June 16, 1963, in Estill County to the late Clayton Angel and Helen Angel.

Danny was a hardworking man who dedicated 22 years to working at the rock quarry. Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather who cherished his family deeply. Some of his greatest moments were spent sitting in the stands, proudly cheering on his children as they played ball. He was always their biggest fan and supporter.

Danny was also one of the University of Kentucky’s biggest basketball fans. He loved watching UK basketball and cheering on the Wildcats. When he wasn’t watching basketball, Danny could often be found outdoors rock hunting, a pastime that brought him peace, happiness, and countless hours of enjoyment. His love for basketball, the outdoors, and especially his family were an important part of the man he was.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by one grandchild, Trenton Harrison.

Danny is survived by his loving companion of many years, Traci Wilson; three sons, John (Courtney) Angel of Florida, Dustin (Tempest) Baker of Irvine, Kentucky, and Kristopher Estes of Irvine, Kentucky; two daughters, Jessica (Joe) Marcum of Winchester, Kentucky, and Haley Angel (Cade Benton) of Estill County; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild, all of whom he loved dearly; and one sister, Carolyn Alcorn of Irvine, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., immediately following visitation, with Nelson Sewell officiating. Burial will follow at South Irvine Cemetery.
