Dickie Lloyd Murphy, age 82 of Irvine, Kentucky passed away Monday December 11, 2023, at Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation after a long battle with Parkinsons disease.

He was born August 25, 1941, in Heidelberg, KY to the late Chester Lee and Julia Estes Murphy.

Dickie graduated from Irvine High School and continued his education by attending EKU. Dickie was a member of the River Drive Christian Church, retired as a brakeman/conductor from CSX Railroad after 38 years of employment. Dickie was a avid fisherman and enjoyed sports, especially UK teams. Dickie became a Kentucky Colonel.

Dickie is survived by his sister: Edna Grace Murphy of Irvine, KY, special cousins: James Hood and Elizabeth Hughes, Jeannette Ross, Carla, David, Charlie and Tucker Lyons, Donnie and Gale Watts, Linda and Brandon McGuire, and Vanda Gregory

Funeral services For Dickie Lloyd Murphy will be conducted on Friday December 15, 2023, at the River Drive Christian Church at 1:00 P.M with Rev. Timothy Canter officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M until the time of service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James Hood Hughes, Donnie Watts, Ralph Howell, Donnie Barnes, Roy Embs, and Duff Wolfinbarger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Mays, Herman Conrad, Todd Gould and all of River Drive Church members.
