Obituary

Doug Worrell, 85, widower of Edith Gordon Worrell, passed away Monday at the Madison Heath and Rehab Center. He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Alex and Minnie Taylor Worrell. He was a member of the Estill County Fairboard, a member of Rice Station Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shelia Henry; his brothers Thaddues, Charlie, Stanley, Claude, Johnny, Francis, Allen, and Douglas; his sisters Grace Winkler, Naomi Routenburg, Spicy Witt, Christine Reed. Survivors include his daughter Joyce (and husband Larry) Puckett; his son Phillip (and wife Teresa) Worrell; his brothers Harold Worrell, and Kenton "Sonny" Worrell; his sisters Virginia Henderson; seven grandchildren Larry Puckett III, Stacey Worrell, April Easter, Jamie Puckett, Billy Henry, Teressa Reeves, and Kim Henry; ten great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver Michelle Jenkins. Services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home, with Pastor Darrell Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 pm Friday. The family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers.
