Douglas Lane Kirby age 83, of Irvine, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Winchester, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family.
Doug was born on February 3, 1941, in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Charles and Elsie Scrivner Kirby.
He was a life-long member of the Thomas Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by; his loving wife Provie Mae Barker Kirby, a daughter, Peggy Sue Kirby and one brother, Richard Kirby.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Kirby (Brenda) and Timothy Kirby (Pam), one daughter, Regina Oliver (Neal), eight grandchildren, Ansela (John), Jon (Annie), Eric (Courtney), Kayla (Josh), Asha (Demetrius), Emily, Caitlin (Derek), and Nicholas (Savannah), 13 great grandchildren, Adam, Caleb, Emma, Colt Douglas, Gracie Mae, Beckett, Abram, Sophia, Bishop, Xavier, Tucker, Benny and Weston, one brother, Jerry Kirby (Vydra), one sister, Dixie McQueen along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Douglas Lane Kirby will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M at the Thomas Baptist Church. Brother Tommy Edwards will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas L. Kirby Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January the 3, 2025, from 5:30 P.M till 9:00 P.M at Thomas Baptist Church.
The pallbearers will be Jon and Eric Kirby, John Harkins, Adam Harkins, Demetrius Mynhier, Josh Wilson, Matthew and Tommy Kirby.
