Dr.William Edward Wise, 96, of Ravenna, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 after a short illness. He was born February 3rd, 1918, the son of the late Wilbur and Matilda Ann Martin Wise. He was a graduate of Eastern Teachers College and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was a retired Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kentucky and also a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a charter member of the Estill Co. Historical and Genealogical Society, a 60 year Mason and past master, Irvine Lodge 137 F&AM, served for 30 years with the Estill Co. 4-H Council, and was a member of the River Drive Christian Church. Dr. Wise is survived by one son; William Edward Wise II and his wife Dixie; three granddaughters Laura Beth Wise, Victoria Madison Wise, and Olivia Jo Wise; one great grandson Robert Xavier White. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Walters Wise; two brothers F. Marshall Wise and Maxie Hubert Wise; one sister Lillian Russell Wise; one grandson William Edward Wise III. Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 5th, 2014 at 2:00 pm, at the Turpin Cemetery with Bro. Paul Groves. Service: 2:00 PM Turpin Cemetery
