Elmer Roberts, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Baptist Health in Richmond, Kentucky. He was a devoted member of Cow Creek Church.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Sam R. Roberts and Mariah Roberts.

Elmer had a passion for gardening and found great joy in fishing. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren, delighting in their company and creating many joyful memories together.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Roberts; one daughter, Debra Cobble; one grandson, Timothy Issac Cobble; one great-grandson, Dalton Titus Boyd; one sister, Vernie Roberts; two brothers, Delmer Roberts and Sam Roberts Jr.; and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Joni (Ike) Boyd of Irvine, Kentucky, and Carol (Carl) Wiegman of Lakeland, Florida; one son, Randall (Marlena) Roberts of Ravenna, Kentucky; and twelve grandchildren: Ike IV (Dreama) Boyd, Ashley (Steve) Fox, Jessica (Chris) Williams, Heather (Jason) Willis, Michael Wiegman, Christopher Wiegman, Daniel (Andrea) Wiegman, Timothy (Abby) Wiegman, Aleisha Cobble, Joshua Cobble, Benjamin (Brooke) Cobble, and Katie Cobble. He is also survived by twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Jimmy Lakes, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Irvine Cemetery, with Ike Boyd IV, Elijah Boyd, Jason Willis, Albert Murray, Chris Williams, Christopher Wiegman, and Daniel Wiegman serving as active pallbearers.
