Flossie Haddix Walling, 91, widow of Clayborn Walling, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was born in Breathitt, Kentucky, on September 28, 1934, to the late Elbert and Melinda Haddix. Flossie was a devoted homemaker who deeply loved her Family.
Our mother was a loving and caring woman who always put her family first. She devoted her life to taking care of those she loved, and she did so with kindness, patience, and a gentle spirit. She was a godly woman whose faith guided her words and action, leaving a lasting example for all of us. Her love was steady, her presence comforting, and her life a true blessing to her family and everyone who knew her
She is survived by four daughters: Tina (Jeff) Adams of Lucasville, Ohio; Debbie (Ernie) Lyon of Beverly Hills, Florida; Tammy Arvin of Irvine; and Liz (Jamie) Rose of Irvine. She also leaves behind one son, George Walling of Irvine; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Flossie is also survived by two sisters: Rachel Hodge of Decard, Tennessee, and Ellen (Bill) Clemons of Union, Kentucky, as well as one sister-in-law, Barbara Henry of Irvine, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: George Lee Haddix, Burnie Haddix, and Jerry Haddix; four sisters: Pauline Beinke, Omedia Ashley, Bessie Haddix, and Nancy Haddix; and one grandson, Jeffery J. Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Brother Marvin Neal. Pallbearers will be Jeff Adams, Ernie Lyon, Chad Adams, Anthony Arvin, Dewayne Arvin, and Blake Francisco. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt Francisco and Jaddin Estes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine.
