Helen Stevens Witt, 94, widow of Leon Witt, passed away at her home Thursday, after a long illness. Mrs. Witt was a native of Estill County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Sarah Margaret Chaney Stevens. She was a member of the Wisemantown United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and served as their treasurer for many years. Mrs.Witt worked for the Estill County Board of Education before she was married, then became a homemaker. Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her husband Leon; her brother Charles "Sonny" Stevens; and her sister Bonnie Jenkins. Survivors include her three sons Victor (and wife Mary Ann), John (and wife Regina), Mark (and wife Vinada); her sisters Loraine (and husband Glen) Crowe, and Margaret Lee (and husband Aubrey) Embry; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, June 10th 1:00 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Greg McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 pm Sunday evening. Pallbearers will be Andrew Witt, Ryan Witt, Ronnie Gillium, Greg McLoney, Zach Thompson, and Drew Barnett.
