Irvine: James Clark Hardy, Jr., 92, of Shelbyville, formerly of Irvine, passed away Thursday, at the Crestview Nursing Home in Shelbyville after a long illness. Mr. Hardy was a native of Estill County, a son of the late James C. and Mary Williams Bush Hardy. He was U.S. Naval veteran during WWII, and an Army National Guard veteran. He was member of the Shawnee Lodge #830, and a former member of the Irvine Lodge #137, where he served as Grand Master in 1974. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his son Daniel Gordon Hardy. Survivors include his daughters Susan (Noel) Martin & Brenda (Charles) Lee; his brothers Kenneth R.(Phyllis) Hardy, & Karel W. (Shelby) Hardy; his sister Marion Bush Hardy; his grandchildren N. David Martin, Byron Thomas Martin, Melissa Martin (James) Shaw, Joseph Lee, Daniel (Tara) Lee, Julia Lee (Daniel) Huffaker, Kimberlee Hardy (Galen) Brooks; his great-grandchildren Madalyn Shaw, Kylee Shaw, Joseph Lee, Rowan Lee, Oliver Lee, Rebecca Huffaker, Caleb Huffaker; great-grandson Mason Lee. Services will be held Monday, November 24th, 12:30 pm at the Lewis Funeral Home, with Masonic Rites. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery, with military honors.
