James B. Jenkins, 72, husband of Myrtle Anglin Jenkins, passed away April 10th after a long illness. He was a native of Estill County, a son of the late Stanley and Ruth Bingham Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a retired employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot, a member of Knob Lick Baptist Church and was an avid reader. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Douglas Jenkins; and his sister Pearl Johnson. Survivors other than his wife of 50 years Myrtle, include his children Dan (Debbie) Jenkins, Darren (Anida) Jenkins, and Lisa (Eddie) Alcorn; his grandchildren Jackie Horn Jr., Justin Farthing, Christina Spicer, Matthew Farthing, Dylan Alcorn, and Shannon Jenkins; his great-grandchildren Isaiah and Jonah Spicer. Services will be held Saturday, April 13th, 1:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Miller Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 PM Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Matthew Farthing, James Barnett, Steve Jenkins, Ray Brooks, Kenny Murphy, and Calvin Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are the grandchildren.
