Irvine: James Foster "Jim" King, 75, of 356 Red Lick Rd, Irvine, husband of Letitia "Tish" King, passed away Wednesday July 18th, 2012 at the Hospice Plus Compassionate Care Center, Richmond after a long illness. Mr. King was born May 11, 1937, a son of the late William F. and Martha Riddell King. He was a native of Estill County, and lived there all his life. Mr. King enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, gardening, photography and drawing. He loved working on projects around his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and served active duty with the 100th Division at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas from 1961 to 1962 and was very proud of the time he served in the military. He was a charter member of the Estill County Jaycees and a member of the American Legion Honor Guard. He was a member of the Irvine First Christian Church. He retired from IBM in Lexington after 35 years of employment. Prior to that he drove a concrete truck for Martin Cement, Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister Eva Chevela, and a half-brother, John King. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Letitia King; three daughters Alicia and husband Tom Broaddus, Richmond, Sonja Thomas, Austin TX, and Jena King, Lexington; a sister, Martha Martin and husband Wayne of Middletown Ky; a nephew Bill Martin and wife Caroline of Prospect Ky; a niece Susie Hadley and husband Terry; great nephew John Hadley; two granddaughters Christy Morgan and husband Wes, Nicholasville, Lauren Metelski and husband Yury, Washington D.C.; a grandson Josh Thomas and wife Regina of Austin, TX; great-granddaughers Grace Lawrence and Maddie Lawrence, Eleanora Metelski and Fiona Metelski, Kiera Thomas; step-great-grandson Ashton Johnson. Services will be held Saturday, 3:00 PM at the Irvine First Christian Church, with Bro. Greg Humpert and Bro. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday after 11:00 AM at the church. Lewis Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Tom Broaddus, Wes Morgan, Yury Metelski, Josh Thomas, David Powell and Gayle Powell. Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends at Irvine First Christian, John Hadley, John Duval, E.B. and Gerry Conner, Mae Shearer, neighbors Don Hall, John Duvall, Mike Bicknell, Jim Muncie, Russell Abney and Glenn Tyree.
