Obituary

James "Jim" S. Morris, 76, husband of Mary Margaret Morris, of Irvine, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 28th. A native of Estill County, he was a son of the late Robert Clay and Carrie Gabbard Morris. A former brick mason and jailer for Estill County, Mr. Morris loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed horses, people and talking. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeaneen "Sis" Tipton; his brother, Bobby Morris; and his sister, Ona B.Rawlins. Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret Estes Morris; his sons, Bo (Madeline) Morris, Fudd (Sharon) Morris, and Paul (Lorrie) Morris; daughter, Bobbie (Robert) Bowman; brother, Beverly (Linda) Morris; sisters, Virginia Harrison, Shirley Wittington, Pearl (Mike) Tyree and Chris (Larry) McMaine; grandchildren, Steven Isaacs, Jr, Shannon (Briton) Estes, Mary Beth Morris, Kayla Morris, and Michael (Megan) Crowe; great grandchildren, Averly Estes, Karlee Crowe, Reuben Crowe and Mikey Crowe. Services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, October 1st at the Lewis-Abner Home for Funerals with Bros. Scott Rogers and Jerry Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6PM on Saturday. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry "Round Daddy" Parsons, Chad Smith, Bruce Tipton, Charlie Parks, Carl Wayne McMaine, and Gerald Rader. Honorary pallbearers will be D.L. Todd and Chuck Smith.
