James Roy "Jimmy" Bryant, 59, husband of Peggy Tipton Bryant passed away Monday. Mr. Bryant lived in Estill County his entire life, a son of the late Roy Thomas and Mary Rainey Bryant. He worked as a local merchant in Bryant's Paint Store. He was a member of the VFW, and American Legion, Post 79. Jimmy was a talented woodworker. Survivors other than his wife of over forty years, Peggy, include his brother Tommy "Tobo" & wife Jane Bryant; his nieces Elizabeth Bryant and Kara & husband Jason Williams; his nephew Jonathan Newton; his sister-in-law Marcia & husband David Newton; and his special brother James "Pork" Muncie. Services will be held Thursday, October 17th, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Lewis Funeral Home, with Joe Lahrmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 5:00 pm Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Roger Kissick, Darrell Richardson, Darrell Elliott, Kim Woolery, Greg Woolery, Steve Woolery, Larry Auxier, Branson Elliott, Billy Tucker, James "Pork" Muncie, William Earl Bledsoe, and Kenneth Stocker. The family requests memorial donations to the American Legion Post #79, The Estill County Gideons, or the charity of your choice.
