Jesse H. (Itzie) Bailey, age 88, of Ravenna, Ky. Departed this life on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Born on November 30, 1936, in Irvine, Ky. Jesse was the son of the late Jesse E. and Della Mae Walters Bailey.

Mr. Bailey was a lifelong member of Mount Carmel Christian Church and also served in the United States Army. He was a retired brakeman with CSX Railroad.

In addition to his parents Jesse was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Fay Horn Bailey,2 sisters, Vivian Griggs and Lodena Muncy. And a brother-in-law, Ray South.

Survivors include his 3 children, Jesse Allen Bailey and wife Allison, Eddie Lee Bailey, and Sheila Renee Bailey. 3 grandchildren, Jessica Horn and husband Sean, Kerrie Collins, and Gracie Bailey. 3 great grandchildren, Olivia Shearer, Amelia Horn, and Aiden Ramey. 2 sisters, Mary South and Betty Witt and husband Larry (Mouse), 2 brothers-in-laws, Charles P. Muncy and Johnny Griggs as well as numerous nieces and nephews and relatives and friends to miss him and mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Jesse H. (Itzie) Bailey will be conducted on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals. Pastor Mark Pearson and Rev. Ronald Lutes will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Moberly Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Military honors at the graveside will be conducted by American Legion Post 79.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
