John C. Griffin, 77, of New Castle, KY formerly of Old Landing, passed away Sunday. Mr. Griffin was a retired carpenter, and a native of Lee County, a son of the late Ernest and Thelma Estes Griffin. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his brothers Clayburn, Junior, and Arthur Griffin, and a grandson Joshua Hager. Survivors include his sons Johnny (Katie) Griffin, Lola Ray (Connie) Griffin; his daughters Donna Ruth (John) McIntosh, Thelma Marie Griffin, and Mary Lynn Griffin; his brothers Omer, Donald Lee, and Herman Griffin; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Bev Arvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Griffin Family Cemetery at Old Landing.
