Obituary

Leo Crowe, born June 24, 1932, in Estill County, Kentucky, passed away at his home in Opelika, Alabama on June 8, 2024. He was the son of the late Ernest and Ethel Bryant Crowe of Irvine, Kentucky. A 1951 graduate of Irvine City Schools, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education from Kentucky Christian University in Grayson. He served the Lord as a minister of the Gospel for 64 years in Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo Crowe of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Basel Crowe of Houston, Texas, three sisters, Sybil Jones, Pansy Gross, and Anita Jones, all of Irvine, and daughter-in-law, Susan Ann Crowe of Lanett, Alabama.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Peggy Stamper Crowe, three sons and their wives, Berry Leo and Barbara Crowe of Plantersville, Alabama, Roy and Susan B. Crowe of Opelika, Alabama, Charlie and Lorie Crowe of Ariton, Alabama, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and Dennis Reid of Bremen, Georgia. Thirteen grandchildren, Tim Crowe, Charlotte Lace, Clay Crowe, Nathan Crowe, Olivia Grace, Maddy Bush, Mara Bush, Marshall Reid, Elizabeth Reid, Elise Hill, Abby Havens, Laurel Ghizzoni, and Bryant Crowe, as well as 22 great-grandchildren also survive Mr. Crowe.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 11 at River Drive Christian Church in Irvine, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at noon with the funeral at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Crowe has suggested donations be made to Faith Christian Camp 808 Camp Road, Annville, KY 40402, or his favorite mission, CRAM Worldwide Inc. 1291 Airport Parkway, Greenwood, IN 46143.
