Obituary

Leon Covey,61, husband of Teresa Mae Tipton Covey, passed away Sunday at his home, after a long illness. Mr. Covey was a native of Middletown Ohio, a son of Florence Gray Covey and the late Almassa Covey. He was a retired carpenter, and a member of the Turning Point Apostolic Church. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a brother Paul W. "Pete" Covey. Survivors other than his wife Teresa include his sons James Leon Covey, Chris (and wife Darla) Covey, John Covey, Matthew (and wife Emeli) Covey, Almassa Covey; his daughter Leona Covey; his grandchildren Alexander Covey, Riley Covey, Oliver Covey, and Ariana Covey; his brothers Al (and wife Wilma) Covey, Coleman Covey, Gary (and wife Stella) Covey; his sisters Diana Frymyer, Sherry Covey, Pam (and husband Jerry) Brandenburg, Leatha (and husband James) Burger, Carolyn Covey, and Magdalene Embs; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, May 16th, at 2:00 pm at the Turning Point Apostolic Church with Bro. Larry McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Covey Family Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 pm Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be James Leon Covey, Chris Covey, Robert Tipton, Steven Tipton, Dewayne Covey, Johnny Covey. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Proffitt, Tyler Sparks , and Timmy Parker. Service: 2:00 PM Friday, May 16th, 2014 Turning Point Apostolic Church Visitation: 6:00 pm Thursday, May 15th 2014 Lewis Funeral Home
