Irvine: Melinda Alice Arvin Lynch,101, widow of Vernon Lynch, departed from this life on January 21st, 2015, at 3:00 pm in her home. She was born on April 3rd, 1913 in Estill County to the late Nathaniel Thornton and Mary Catherine Arvin, stepmother Bertha Richardson Arvin. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Ford Christian Church. Survivors include her daughter & caregiver Ella Bee Lynch of Clark County, Melvin (Marjorie) Lynch of Mason County, Charles (Alma) Lynch, Douglas (Regina) Lynch, and Mary Kate (Garrett) Jones, special granddaughter and caregiver Billie (Roger) Roy of Madison County; 32 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren; 57 great-great grandchildren; her brother Beverly (Miranda) Arvin of Estill County; numerous nieces and nephews. Family that preceded her in death includes her children Harold, William, Burgin, Banford, Marvin, Dorothy, Diana, Maydeen Cobb, and Jane Dickerson. Other Children she helped raise include Imogene, Jennie, Coley, Vernon Jr., Mendle, Danny, Dennie, Dennis, and Darlene. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Saturday at Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Molihan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery on Barnes Mountain. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time Saturday. Pallbearers will be Darrell Lynch, Jeffrey Lynch, Nathan Lynch, George Jones, Timothy Snowden, Brandon Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Beverly Arvin and Shawn Roy. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice East.
