Michael Edward McDowell, age 47, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at his residence in Estill County. He was born on December 1, 1978, to the late Thomas Edward McDowell and the late Nancy Carol McDowell.

Michael enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Logan McDowell, and two brothers, Steven McDowell and Tom McDowell.

He is survived by three daughters, Ceara Nicole McDowell (Dillard), Kendra Renae McDowell, and Riley Hope McDowell; one son, Ryan Tyler McDowell; two sisters, Brenda Roberts and Tina McDowell; one brother Chad Newman; Niece Ellory Belle Newman; nephews Kingsley Edward Newman and James McDowell and two special friends, Misty Wilson and Heather Rose.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the McDowell Family Cemetery in Estill County officiated by Marvin Neal.
