Nannie JoAnn Walling Dawes, 76, of Irvine, passed away at her home on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 after a short illness. She was born on April 16th, 1940 to Hargis and Thelma Sons Walling. Nannie was of the Holiness Faith. She enjoyed embroidery, working puzzles and music. She was retired from Walmart. Mrs. Dawes was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Dawes and a son, Earnest Dawes Jr. Nannie is survived by her 6 other children: sons, Marty (wife Bevy) Dawes, Bobby (wife Cheebie) Dawes; daughters, Reana (husband Buddy) Puckett, Jo-Etta Darlene (husband David), Tabby (husband Wayne) Shanks and Barb Dawes, all of Richmond; She had 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 5th at Lewis Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Dunaway Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 5:00 PM Sunday, until 8:00 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Buddy Puckett, David West, Jr., Henry Boian, Jr., Jeremy McManus, Gerald Thacker, and Josh Barnes.
