Nellie White Tate, 89, widow of William G. Tate, passed away Friday, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Mrs. Tate was a native of Estill County, a daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Corner White. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Rice Station Christian Church. Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her sons James and Charles Nelson White; her sisters Margaret Richardson, Vina Sparks, Sadie Jordan, Mary Lucy Barrett, Sally Snowden; her brothers Frank and George White. Survivors include Catherine Plowman, Charles Richardson, her daughter Mary Pearson; her sons Bill and wife Donna Tate, Thomas and wife Kim Tate; her daughters Linda and husband Gerald Combs and Jeannie and husband Ronnie Watkins; her sister Bertha Stepp; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews Services will be held Tuesday, October 2nd, 11:00 AM at the Lewis Funeral Home with Bro. Sidney Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 PM Monday, October 1st. Pallbearers will be Tony Pearson, Will Pearson, Joseph Pearson, Bill Tate, Doug Newton, and Terry Stepp.
