Ova L. Abney Jr., 68, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. He was the widower of Marie Penderguest Abney.

Born on April 10, 1958, in Estill County, Kentucky, Ova was the son of the late Ova L. Abney Sr. and Alma Tharp Abney.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two stepsons, Coty Abney and Justin Thacker; and one beloved grandchild, Chloe Abney.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Aaron L. Abney.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cobb Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine.
