Ricky Nelson Richardson, age 65, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home. He was born on Friday, September 30, 1960, in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Avery Richardson and Eliza Richardson.

Ricky will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of making others laugh. Known as the joker of the family, Ricky always had a joke to tell—and he was usually convinced his was the best one. He truly enjoyed joking with everyone he met and bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. His siblings fondly remember that whenever someone was feeling down or having a bad day, a visit with Ricky was all it took to lift their spirits. His laughter, jokes, and ability to brighten a room will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

In addition to his loving parents, Ricky was preceded in death by four brothers, Lanny Richardson, David Richardson, James Eddie Richardson, and Robert Richardson.

Ricky is survived by four brothers, Larry (Sarah) Richardson, Roy Richardson, Raymond (Sharon) Richardson, and Danny (Michelle) Richardson, all of Estill County, Kentucky; two sisters, Brenda Faye (Brian) Caudill of Lee County, Kentucky, and Darelene Richardson; along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., immediately following visitation. Burial will follow at the Richardson Cemetery in Estill County, Kentucky.
