Robert Tracy Abney, age 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky, to the late Virginia Abney and J.D. Abney.

Robert had a deep passion for working on old cars and took great pride in restoring, showing, and racing them. His love for automobiles brought him great joy and was a defining part of his life.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlos McCormick, Jim Abney, Michael Abney, and Danny Abney; two sisters, Mona Watson and Norma Nunnelley.

He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Larrison of Clay City, Kentucky, and Ashley Abney of Winchester, Kentucky; one son, Brayden Abney; and four stepchildren, Kenneth Culton, Emma Culton, Joby (Avis) Culton, and Clarissa Johnson, all of Irvine. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Barnes and Mary McIntosh of Irvine; three brothers, Tim (Patricia) Abney, Ronnie (Betty) Abney, and Johnny Abney, all of Irvine; seven grandchildren, Paige, Daygan, Gracie, Emma, Grayson, Aoda, and Case; and one great-grandchild, Evelyn, all of whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind several special nieces and nephews and his former wife, Ruthie Abney, who remained a special friend; and his beloved companion, Nancy Johnson

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
