Robert Cox Jr., 76, widower of Ilene Messer Cox, passed away Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at the Irvine Health and Rehab Center, after a short illness. Mr. Cox was a native of Lee County, a son of the late Robert and Lillie Angel Cox. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, he enjoyed trading and working in his yard. Survivors include his sons Shane (and wife Andrea) Cox, Perry (and wife Cindy) Cox, Phillip (and wife Brenda) Cox, Kenny (and wife Barbara) Stepp, Mike(and wife Linda) Stepp, and Jason (and wife Sally) Stepp; his sister Wilma Lois Young; his sister-in-law Jewel Fike; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, November 28th, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lewis Funeral Home, with Bro. Linville Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow in the Estes Cemetery.
