Robert P. Hoover, 94, widower of Bertha Hoover, passed away Friday at Baptist Health in Richmond. Mr. Hoover was a native of Estill County, a son of the late James Daniel and Lucinda Sparks Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a US Army Veteran, a member of the 83rd Infantry, serving in WWII. He was amember of the South Irvine Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bertha on Feb. 15th, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Armettia Glander; by his granddaughter Ronda Hughes; and his brothers John, Banford, Stanley, Ezart, David, Virgil, Arthur, and Dennis. Survivors include his sons Bobby and wife Carolyn, Arnold Gray and wife Donna; his daughter Loretta and husband James Walters; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Services will be held Tuesday, November 19th 2013, at South Irvine Baptist Church, at 11:00 am with Bro. Donnie Burford officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery.
