Ronald Lee Collins Sr., 67, husband of Ruth Brown Collins, passed away Sunday, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was a native of Winamac, IN, a son of the late Rokie Collins and Ilene Risner Collins. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired construction worker, he enjoyed gardening, hot rods, his family, bible study, animals, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Bobbie Lee Jones.
Survivors other than his wife Ruth, include his son Ron Collins Jr.; his daughter Patricia (and husband Jim) Miller; his brother Melvin Collins; his sisters Donna McGuinn , Barbara Russell, Dorene Hall, Rita Brown, and Charlene Napier; his grandchildren Ronald Lee Collins III, and Jonathon David Collins; a host of friends; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home with Pastor Harry Revel officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Friends may call anytime after 10:00 am until service time.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Lee Collins III, Jonathon David Collins, Austin James Miller, Roy Everett Miller, Brandon Grey Shepherd, and, Gary Blaine Blanton. Honorary pallbearers will be James Scott Miller, Lonnie Brown, Gary Wooten, Terry Marshall, and Floyd Russell Jr.
