Theresa
Cecil
Jun 11, 1957 — Oct 9, 2026
Theresa Cecil, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Center Point Hospital in Winchester, Kentucky. She was born on Tuesday, June 11, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late James and Catherine Strichko.
Theresa was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a beautiful soul who touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Dwayne “Ed” Cecil. Together, they built a lifetime of beautiful memories, but some of their greatest joys came from spending time with their beloved grandchildren. Theresa's children and grandchildren were truly her whole world, and nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. They were her greatest blessings, her pride and joy, and the reason behind so many of her smiles.
Theresa was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for others. She was the heart of her family, always working tirelessly to keep everyone together and making sure those she loved were cared for. No matter what life brought her way, she always seemed to have a smile on her face and love in her heart. Though she may have been small in stature, she was mighty in strength, courage, and determination. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special, loved, and appreciated.
Above all, Theresa was a woman of strong faith who loved her Lord with all her heart. Her faith in God remained a guiding light throughout her life, giving her strength through every challenge she faced. Although her family was not ready to say goodbye, they find comfort and peace in knowing that their sweet momma is now resting in the loving arms of the Angels, free from pain and surrounded by the everlasting love of her Heavenly Father. While their hearts are broken, they will forever cherish the beautiful memories, unconditional love, and countless blessings she leaves behind. Theresa may have been tiny, but the love she gave and the impact she made were immeasurable. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 41 years, Dwayne “Ed” Cecil, who faithfully remained by her side; one daughter, Nicole Cecil of Winchester, Kentucky; one son, Nathaniel (Beverly) Cecil of Berea, Kentucky; and six precious grandchildren, Avarie Albright, Nolan Cecil, Titus Cecil, Chloe Albright, Abriella Cecil, and Lorelai Cecil, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.
She is also survived by three sisters, Charlotte Baran, Mary Kolibab, and Debbie Martinsek, all of Ohio; and two brothers, James Strichko and Joseph Strichko, both of Ohio, along with many other family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
A memorial service to celebrate Theresa's life and the love she shared with so many will be held at a later date.
Though she is no longer with us in person, the love Theresa gave so freely will continue to live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye forever, but simply until they meet again.
Lewis Funeral Home of Irvine is honored to serve the family of Theresa Cecil during this difficult time.
