Waneetta Lynam Newman, 92, widow of Odis Newman, passed away Friday at Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine. Mrs. Newman was a native of Scott county, a daughter of the late John Lewis and Maude Ellen Games Lynham. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Newman (Georgetown, KY); and her sisters, Ethel Lynham and Lillie Mae Lynham. She was a retired employee of Kentucky Textiles in Paris. Survivors include her half-sister, Henrietta Wainscott (Corinth, KY); her half-brother, William "Bill" Games (North Carolina); two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Ray and Marie Dixon. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 4th, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Double Oak Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 6:00 pm Sunday.
